I work in a special services school district. This upcoming week my district is allowing a mask-optional policy. I am really concerned about it because I know that none of my students will be wearing a mask. It has been bad as it is with kids leaving their masks below their noses... now this. I feel like I am in an endless struggle and it is making me question why I continue to teach.
I am a cancer survivor and I take my health very seriously because of it. We all should.
Right now I feel like my district is compromising the health of the teachers for the sake of laziness and apathy about the pandemic. I know that people are tired of wearing masks but it is what is keeping all of us safe.
Has anyone experienced anything similar in your district? What is your district's policy?
